Lake Bodensee (Lake Constance), which lovingly connects three countries, located on the border of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, offers great opportunities for family holidays, yoga tours, conferences, lake cruises, sailing and yachting.

We first visited the lake in the summer of 2023, when we travelled to several towns on the lake shore and were surprised and inspired by its beauty. The lake is surrounded by vineyards, forests and hills, and its waters shimmer with all shades of blue and emerald, depending on the season.

At dawn, a light mist spreads over the lake, giving the landscape a fairy-tale atmosphere. During the day, Lake Constance comes to life: white sailboats glide across the water, the quiet ringing of bicycles and the aroma of coffee from street cafes wafts from the embankments. The island of Mainau is especially beautiful — a true paradise garden, buried in flowers.

Any body of water — be it the sea, ocean, river or lake — offers valuable Throughout the year, there are loads of events in this area, like the big summer festival by the lake with music and fireworks, the Seenachtfest / Lake Night Festival (Konstanz), theatre and opera performances on a floating stage on the water at the Bregenz Festival, a wine and fish festival right on the lakefront, the Wine & Fish Festival Reichenau, the Constance Wine Festival, the Open-Air Summer Theatre, and the International Lake Constance Week — sailing regattas, cultural programmes on the waterfront, and a sailing festival.

Romantic hotels and equipped beaches are located along the lake, including a former Dominican monastery, a picturesque place right on the water — the Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz, a boutique hotel in the vineyards with excellent views of the lake and mountains — Burgunderhof, and the See & Park Hotel Feldbach, a hotel in a former monastery in a park area right on the water.

The famous airship designer Ferdinand von Zeppelin was born here, and we saw many airships in the sky here. Anyone who wants to can fly!
